John and Sheila Dorosk established Drapes and Shutters Inc. in Sarasota, Florida, in 1977, after "retiring" from Connecticut where they were successful in providing quality decorating products and outstanding customer service at reasonable prices.

Today the business is known as Decorating Resources™.

Clients' requests for additional services and products was the impelling force behind the successful growth of Decorating Resources™. More and more, customers wanted "one stop" shopping. They wanted one person they can trust to coordinate the entire decorating project from beginning to end. They learned that they could trust the professional services provided by Sheila and Shayla, our decorators.

Decorating Resources™ has established working relationships with reliable, quality workers, which minimizes problems created by dealing with a number of different tradespeople needed to complete a project. This also saves you from having to find these workers on your own, and it ultimately results in lower prices for you.

The Decorating Resources™ showroom at 7488 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota is about three years old. Its 4,200 square feet is full of exciting fabrics, displays and samples, including our collection of over 60,000 fabric samples.
